Commandments are not restrictive. On the contrary. You are liberating.

Honestly now. Every child should be aware that one should not kill, steal, covet one's friend's wife or that one should not cheat. And that God does not want us to worship other invented gods is somehow also logical.

The commandment should not abuse the name of God is and has unfortunately been disregarded too much. Still, someone would only feel constricted if they were going to do something like that.

Honor mother and father, they gave birth to us. I know the subject is difficult for some. Since it wasn't easy for me either, I know how difficult it is. You can write to me about this.

At first glance, I think it's human nature to feel cramped when something is prescribed for you. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that the commandments only promote our actions with love. Do good, forgive. Here too, free will applies.

But first you have to know that there are about 613 commandments in the Old and New Testaments.

But these commandments still apply above all to the Jews. There are not only commandments that forbid you but also about things that you have to keep, such as the Shabat.

A list of the seven Noachidic commandments can be found in the Talmudic tractate  Sanhedrin  13, but they are also partly mentioned and partly indicated in the Torah ( Gen.  9.1-13  EU ).

In the Talmud treatise  Sanhedrin 56a / b  the following seven Noachidic commandments are defined: [3]

Why do other laws apply to Jews?

The Old and New Testaments are written in the Bible.

In the Old Testament you will find the laws that were in place before Jesus was born.

The Jews had to obey these laws in order to obtain salvation.

in the New Testament we obtain salvation through Jesus.

You can find out why HERE.
